WMP has a fully-equipped and experienced quality control department which consist of a quality control manager and three inspectors. The quality control department certifications consist of AWS Certified Welding Inspectors (CWI), ASNT Level II Liquid Penetrant Certifications and ASNT Level II Visual Testing Certifications. Continuing education is important at WMP, as it ensures that the level of quality will be at its highest at any given time. Quality is the most important part of the mission at WMP and the Quality Control department answers only to the President, to ensure no overriding by shop or project deadlines, as is evident in many other facilities. WMP inspectors are used to working with multiple levels of outside inspectors, from client, third party, licensor, engineering and others as needed. Therefore, WMP can stop at any point along the way to ensure client satisfaction and appropriate checkpoints are in place and followed. Having certified inspection personnel on your side will greatly reduce any risk of schedule mishaps or capital loss due to time or process changes.
WMP offers a variety of testing necessary to ensure product authenticity as well as testing procedures that may be specifically needed for a certain job, or as required by a customer. WMP provides in-house positive material identification (PMI), guaranteeing to the customer the authenticity of their purchase and product. WMP also conducts or provides NDE (non-destructive examination) to satisfy customers’ requirements. Those specific testing procedures are either done at WMP or are sent out, again based on customer specifications. Some of the procedures that WMP will complete or help facilitate include leak testing, magnetic particle testing, radiographic testing, ultrasonic testing and eddy current testing. All projects also have 100% materials traceability and WMP provides Material Test Reports (MTRs) with all materials purchased. Customers can be assured that all parts and materials for a job are 100% tracked throughout the entire process, along with required NDE (non-destructive examination) at various stages of production.
Proper upfront planning is essential to ensure that the quality process throughout the fabrication of the product, to the completion of the project, are all executed properly. Detailed knowledge and experience of the entire process is what makes WMP Quality personnel tuned to the needs of any type of project and able to assist upfront in planning, throughout the life of the job, and onto final completion and inspection. One such way that WMP assists its clients through upfront planning is with an ITP (Inspection Test Plan) document, in essence a roadmap for every project, which shows how to inspect, test and check all details within a project.
